What sets the price of a Sentosa swimming lesson
| Factor | Effect on price | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Format | 1-to-1 highest per swimmer; pairs and groups lower | The coach's time is shared across more swimmers |
| Lesson length | 30 min for babies and toddlers; 45–60 min for others | Priced by time; young children need shorter lessons |
| Frequency and block size | Booking a block holds your weekly slot; the per-lesson rate is unchanged | Regular slots are easier for coaches to plan around |
| Time slot | Peak weekend mornings may cost slightly more | Highest demand in Sentosa Cove |
| Special requirements | Adaptive or special-needs coaching may cost more | Requires coaches with specific training and experience |
| Location | Sentosa and Sentosa Cove rates include travel | No separate travel or parking charge |
How to keep the cost down
Share the lesson. A pair of siblings, or a small group of three or four children from your development, cuts the cost per child substantially while keeping the coach's attention meaningful.
Book a block. Four lessons at $600 works out at the same $150 a lesson, but it holds your weekly slot and saves arranging payment every week.
Practise between lessons. The single biggest saving. Ten minutes of practice at your own pool between lessons means fewer lessons to reach the same goal.
Choose off-peak times. Weekday afternoons and early evenings are easier to book and may be priced lower than weekend mornings.

Pricing questions
How much do swimming lessons in Sentosa cost?
Private swimming lessons in Sentosa are $150 per lesson, or $600 for a block of four. That rate includes your coach travelling to your pool, with no separate travel or parking charge. Pairs, small groups and adaptive coaching are quoted separately, so contact us and we will reply with a written quote.
Why are private lessons in Sentosa priced higher than public-pool classes?
Three reasons: the coach travels to your pool rather than teaching several groups back to back at one complex; you get the coach's full attention for the whole lesson; and Sentosa is further from most coaches' other students. Per minute of actual instruction, private lessons are usually the better value.
Is there a trial lesson?
Yes. A single first lesson can be booked so you and the swimmer can meet the coach before committing to a regular slot. It is charged at the normal single-lesson rate.
Do I pay per lesson or per month?
Both options are usually available. A block of four is $600, paid in advance, which is the same $150 a lesson. Terms are set out in writing before you start.
What happens to the fee if the lesson is rained off?
A lesson cancelled for weather is rescheduled, not charged. The same applies to lessons cancelled by you with adequate notice, which is explained before your first lesson.
Can siblings learn together?
Often, yes. Siblings of similar ability can share a lesson, which is usually more economical than two separate slots. If their ages or levels are far apart, a coach may suggest splitting the time so each child gets suitable practice.
How do payments and cancellations work?
Payment terms and the cancellation notice period are explained in writing before your first lesson so there are no surprises. Lessons cancelled with adequate notice, or for weather, are rescheduled rather than lost.
