About the pools at The Oceanfront

A 50-metre pool is unusual for a residential estate and is a real advantage for adults and older children working on endurance and stroke efficiency. The separate children's pool means beginners learn in shallow, calm water away from lap swimmers, and toddlers can have their lesson without sharing space with adults training lengths.

Pool details are as published by the development and may change. We do not have standing access to The Oceanfront; lessons depend on your access as a resident, the condominium's rules and coach availability.

Who lessons at The Oceanfront are for

The Oceanfront attracts a wide age range. We hear from parents of toddlers and pre-schoolers, from school-age children preparing for school swimming, and from adults who want to use the long pool properly for fitness. Expatriate families new to Singapore often ask for a coach who can start their children quickly before the next school term.

Kids swimming lessons at The Oceanfront

For younger children the children's pool is the starting point: blowing bubbles, submerging, floating and kicking with support. As they progress, lessons move to the lap pool where the length allows proper freestyle and backstroke practice without constant turning. Older children can work towards SwimSafer stages on request.

Adult swimming lessons at The Oceanfront

Adults at The Oceanfront often already swim and want to swim better. Common goals are a relaxed freestyle that can sustain 50-metre lengths, bilateral breathing, and a breaststroke that does not strain the neck or knees. Complete beginners are equally welcome and start in the shallower pool.

Lesson formats available

Every format is taught at your pool by the same coach each week. Larger classes are not run at residential pools.

How lessons at The Oceanfront work

Access and pool rules

You register the coach as your guest under The Oceanfront's visitor procedure. Lap-lane etiquette and pool hours set by the management apply during lessons. Please check with the management office if the estate has a policy on external coaches. We do not have independent access to the pools.

Coach matching

Tell us the swimmer's age, experience and your preferred days. We match a coach whose experience fits, for example a coach used to toddlers, a female coach for ladies' lessons, or a coach experienced with autism. The same coach teaches every week so progress is consistent. Read about our swimming coaches in Sentosa.

Weather

The pools are outdoors. Lessons pause when lightning risk is signalled and resume or reschedule depending on how quickly it clears. Early-morning weekend lessons tend to avoid the afternoon storms common in Singapore's wetter months.

The Oceanfront: lesson questions

Is the 50-metre pool suitable for a beginner child?

Beginners start in the children's pool. The lap pool is used once a child can float, push off and swim a short distance unaided. The coach makes that call and stays within arm's reach during the transition.

Can adults book early-morning lessons before work?

Yes, subject to the pool's opening hours and coach availability. Tell us your earliest workable time when you enquire.

Do you teach open-water preparation here?

The 50-metre pool is a good place to build the continuous swimming needed for open-water events. Coaches can structure sessions around distance and breathing for swimmers with that goal.
