Swimming Lessons at Sentosa Cove Landed Homes and Villas

Sentosa Cove's landed enclaves, including Sandy Island, Pearl Island, Coral Island, Paradise Island, Treasure Island and the bungalows along Ocean Drive and Cove Drive, are the only place in Singapore where foreigners may own landed homes. Most have private pools, and a private pool at home is the most convenient setting of all for swimming lessons.

About the pools at Landed homes & villas

Private pools come in every shape. A pool of about 10 to 12 metres is enough for children's lessons and technique work. Pools of 15 metres or more allow adults to practise continuous swimming. Very shallow plunge pools suit babies and toddlers but not stroke development; the coach will tell you honestly what your pool supports.

Pool details are as published by the development and may change. We do not have standing access to any private pool; lessons depend on your access as a resident, the household's rules and coach availability.

Who lessons at Landed homes & villas are for

Villa residents are usually families with children of mixed ages, often with helpers who supervise pool time. Lessons here are for children from six months upwards, for adults, and frequently for the whole family in one visit, with the coach teaching each member in turn.

Kids swimming lessons at Landed homes & villas

At home, children's lessons can be scheduled around naps and school with no travel time. Lessons run through the usual progression of water confidence, breathing, floating, kicking and strokes. Because the pool is private, siblings of different ages can each have a short slot within a single coach visit.

Adult swimming lessons at Landed homes & villas

Adults learning at their own pool value privacy above everything. Lessons cover beginners who never learned, nervous swimmers, and fitness swimmers who want better technique. Where the pool is short, coaches use tethered drills and technique sets rather than long laps.

Lesson formats available

Every format is taught at your pool by the same coach each week. Larger classes are not run at residential pools.

How lessons at a private pool work

Access and pool rules

You control access to your own pool, so no condominium guest registration is needed. We ask only that the pool is clean, the water is clear enough to see the bottom, and someone responsible is at home during children's lessons. The coach brings any teaching aids required.

Coach matching

Tell us the swimmer's age, experience and your preferred days. We match a coach whose experience fits, for example a coach used to toddlers, a female coach for ladies' lessons, or a coach experienced with autism. The same coach teaches every week so progress is consistent. Read about our swimming coaches in Sentosa.

Weather

Private pools are outdoors and follow the same lightning rule as every other pool: out of the water when risk is signalled, resume when it clears, or reschedule. Covered or partly shaded pools allow lessons to continue in light rain more comfortably.

Landed homes & villas: lesson questions

Is my pool big enough for swimming lessons?

If a child can take a few strokes before reaching the other side, it is big enough to learn. Tell us the approximate length and depth when you enquire and the coach will confirm what is realistic.

Can the coach teach several family members in one visit?

Yes. Family sessions with two or more learners are common at landed homes. The coach splits the time so each person gets focused instruction.

Do you teach in pools with a deep end only?

For beginners, some standing-depth water is needed. If your pool is uniformly deep, the coach uses the steps and edge for early confidence work and may suggest a platform or a nearby shallow pool for the first few lessons.

What about pools at Kasara or Ocean 8 on Ocean Drive?

Lessons at any private pool in Sentosa Cove's landed developments work the same way: you provide access to your own pool and the coach comes at the agreed time.
